Description

These Asian Turkey Meatballs are a quick, healthy, and flavorful option for weeknight dinners or party appetizers. Made with lean ground turkey and coated in a sweet and savory hoisin-soy glaze, they’re baked to perfection for a juicy, delicious bite every time. Perfect for meal prep, these meatballs are versatile, easy to make, and a lighter alternative to traditional fried options.

Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 green onions, chopped

1 egg

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

For the Sauce:

1/4 cup hoisin sauce

2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

2 tbsp water

1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.

  • Mix Meatball Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, garlic, green onions, egg, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Mix just until combined.

  • Shape Meatballs: Form the mixture into 12 evenly-sized meatballs and arrange on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.

  • Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, stir together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, water, and sesame oil.

  • Coat the Meatballs: Once baked, toss the meatballs in the sauce until fully coated.

  • Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and extra green onions if desired. Serve as-is or over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Add Heat: Mix in sriracha or red pepper flakes to the sauce for a spicy version.

  • Make Ahead: Meatballs and sauce can be made in advance and stored separately.

  • Gluten-Free Option: Use gluten-free soy sauce and breadcrumbs.

  • Protein Swap: Substitute with ground chicken or lean ground beef if preferred.
