Apple cider

All-purpose flour

Baking powder

Baking soda

Ground cinnamon

Ground nutmeg

Eggs

Melted butter

Brown sugar

Vanilla extract

Milk

Maple syrup

Powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Grease a doughnut pan with butter or non-stick spray.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  • In another bowl, whisk together apple cider, eggs, melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and milk.

  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  • Spoon batter into doughnut pan, filling about ¾ full.

  • Bake for 15–18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  • Let cool slightly in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.

  • For the glaze: Whisk maple syrup, powdered sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.

  • Dip the tops of the doughnuts into the glaze and allow to set.

Notes

Swap the glaze for chocolate glaze if preferred.

Roll the baked doughnuts in cinnamon sugar for a simpler finish.

Add extra spices like allspice or cloves for more warmth.

Make gluten-free by using a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature or freeze for later.
