Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ cup sour cream
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
8 ounces egg noodles
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by boiling water in a large pot. Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
- Add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet, stirring occasionally and cooking for about 5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stirring to combine and cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and dried parsley. Bring the mixture to a simmer, cooking for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the sour cream until smooth and creamy.
- Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and toss gently to coat the noodles with the sauce.
- Serve the Hamburger Stroganoff topped with fresh parsley for garnish.
