Description

Butter Herb Instant Pot Salmon is a rich, buttery, and perfectly flaky salmon dish cooked quickly in the Instant Pot, infused with garlic and fresh herbs for vibrant flavor.

Ingredients

1 ½ lb salmon (fresh or frozen, fillets or whole piece)

¾ cup water

3 tablespoons butter

2 garlic cloves, minced

½ teaspoon dried oregano

1 ½ teaspoons fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)

½ tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried dill)

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon sea salt

Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour water into Instant Pot and place steam rack inside. Lightly spray rack with cooking oil.
  2. Place salmon on rack. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, and herbs. Cut butter into small pieces and spread evenly over salmon.
  3. Close lid, lock, set valve to sealing. Pressure cook on manual for 5–6 minutes if frozen, or 3–4 minutes if fresh.
  4. Perform quick release when cooking finishes.
  5. Carefully remove salmon and serve with lemon wedges if desired. Refrigerate leftovers for 3–4 days.

Notes

Works with fresh or frozen salmon fillets.

For well-done salmon, cook frozen for 6 minutes instead of 5.
