Description
Butter Herb Instant Pot Salmon is a rich, buttery, and perfectly flaky salmon dish cooked quickly in the Instant Pot, infused with garlic and fresh herbs for vibrant flavor.
Ingredients
1 ½ lb salmon (fresh or frozen, fillets or whole piece)
¾ cup water
3 tablespoons butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ teaspoon dried oregano
1 ½ teaspoons fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
½ tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried dill)
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon sea salt
Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Pour water into Instant Pot and place steam rack inside. Lightly spray rack with cooking oil.
- Place salmon on rack. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, and herbs. Cut butter into small pieces and spread evenly over salmon.
- Close lid, lock, set valve to sealing. Pressure cook on manual for 5–6 minutes if frozen, or 3–4 minutes if fresh.
- Perform quick release when cooking finishes.
- Carefully remove salmon and serve with lemon wedges if desired. Refrigerate leftovers for 3–4 days.
Notes
Works with fresh or frozen salmon fillets.
For well-done salmon, cook frozen for 6 minutes instead of 5.
