Description
Chocolate Covered Banana Bites combine the creamy sweetness of bananas with rich dark chocolate for a delicious and simple treat. Quick to prepare and customizable with fun toppings, they make an excellent snack, dessert, or party treat.
Ingredients
2 medium bananas, sliced
1 cup dark chocolate chips
2 tbsp coconut oil
Instructions
- Prepare Banana Slices: Slice the bananas into bite-sized rounds and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for 1 hour.
- Prepare the Chocolate Coating: Melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- Dip the Banana Slices: Once the banana slices are frozen, dip each slice into the chocolate coating. Use a fork to lift and allow excess chocolate to drip off.
- Freeze Again: Place the coated banana slices back on the parchment paper and freeze for a few more minutes to set.
- Serve: Serve the banana bites frozen or let them soften slightly in the refrigerator before serving. Avoid full defrosting for the best texture.
Notes
Toppings: Roll the chocolate-covered bananas in crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or other toppings for extra texture and flavor.
Flavoring the Chocolate: Add a pinch of sea salt or cinnamon for a twist.
Different Chocolate: Experiment with milk, white, or mixed chocolate for a different flavor experience.
