Ingredients
3 cups self-rising flour
⅛ teaspoon baking soda
⅛ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white sugar
½ cup shortening
1 cup tomato-vegetable juice cocktail
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking sheet.
- In a bowl, stir together self-rising flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in shortening with a pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add tomato-vegetable juice cocktail and mix until dough is moist.
- Turn dough onto floured surface and gently knead several times until it holds together.
- Roll dough to about ½-inch thickness.
