Ingredients

For the Danish:

1 sheet puff pastry

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup cherry pie filling

Powdered sugar (for dusting)


Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Prepare the Puff Pastry: Cut the puff pastry into 4 squares. Make cuts at each corner to form a foldable shape.

  • Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  • Assemble the Danishes: Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each puff pastry square. Add a spoonful of cherry pie filling on top of the cream cheese.

  • Fold and Seal: Dampen the edges of the pastry with water and fold the corners towards the center, creating a pocket around the filling.

  • Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

  • Dust with Powdered Sugar: Let cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
