Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 small box (3 oz) Jello powder (any flavor you like)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Optional: Sprinkles, edible glitter, or colored sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Sheets – Preheat the oven to 225°F (110°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. Whip the Egg Whites – In a large, clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually Add Sugar – Increase the mixer speed to high, and gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time. Continue beating until stiff, glossy peaks form.
  4. Add the Jello Powder – Sprinkle the Jello powder into the meringue and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Shape the Meringue – Spoon or pipe small mounds of the meringue onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake – Bake the meringues for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until they are completely dry and crisp. Turn off the oven and let them cool inside for at least an hour.
  7. Serve and Enjoy – Once cooled, store the meringues in an airtight container or enjoy immediately!
