Description

Ingredients

¾ cup all-purpose flour

⅔ cup white granulated sugar

½ teaspoon salt

5 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 medium apples (thinly sliced)


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (170°C).

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and sugar. Add eggs, milk, cream, and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.

  • Chill the batter in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  • Line a 7.5-inch round cake pan with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pan and arrange the apple slices over the top.

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • Cool the pie in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then remove it using the parchment paper. Slice and serve warm or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For a crusted version, you can add a puff pastry base.

Add cinnamon or nutmeg for a spiced variation of this pie.

You can substitute apples with pears or berries for different flavors.

This pie can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven before serving.
