Description

Homemade Cheddar Biscuits are a comforting and delicious treat that perfectly combines flaky, buttery layers with sharp, melty cheddar cheese. Quick and easy to make with pantry staples, these biscuits are ideal as a side, snack, or breakfast. Customize with herbs or spices to make them your own!

Ingredients

For the Biscuits:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup cold butter, cubed

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Cut in Butter: Add cold butter and work it into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture becomes crumbly.

  • Add Cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.

  • Add Milk: Gradually add the milk and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the dough.

  • Shape and Bake: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently shape it into a rough circle. Use a biscuit cutter or knife to cut into 6-8 portions. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • Serve: Enjoy warm, fresh out of the oven.

Notes

Herb-Infused: Add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.

Spicy: Stir in chili flakes or cayenne pepper for a spicy twist.
