Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate-covered spheres, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • For the Topping
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole chocolate-covered spheres

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  6. Fold in chopped chocolate-covered spheres and chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
  10. For the Topping: Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  11. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  12. Pour ganache over cooled tray bake and spread evenly.
  13. Top with whole chocolate-covered spheres, pressing gently into the chocolate.
  14. Let set for at least 1 hour before slicing into squares.
