Description

These Moroccan Chicken Thighs are infused with aromatic spices and herbs, offering a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors. The combination of cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and turmeric creates a rich, exotic taste that pairs beautifully with succulent, juicy chicken. This dish is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Marinate the Chicken:
In a bowl, combine olive oil, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, turmeric, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours, to allow the flavors to meld.

2. Cook the Chicken:
Heat a skillet over medium heat.
Add the marinated chicken thighs to the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is cooked through.

3. Serve:
Transfer the chicken to a serving platter and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro or parsley.
Serve with your choice of side dishes.

Notes

  • Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the marinade for heat.
  • Sweetness: Incorporate a tablespoon of honey or apricot jam into the marinade for a sweet contrast.
  • Herbal Twist: Mix in fresh mint or basil with the cilantro for added freshness.
