Description

Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches are a delicious, nostalgic treat that combines crunchy Oreo cookies with creamy, cold ice cream. These homemade ice cream sandwiches are super easy to make with just two ingredients, and they’re perfect for hot summer days, after-school snacks, or any time you’re craving a sweet, indulgent treat.

Ingredients

16 Oreo cookies (plus extra)

1 pint premium ice cream (any flavor of choice)

Parchment paper

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ice Cream: Lay a large piece of parchment paper on a flat surface. Slice the ice cream pint into halves and wrap it in the paper to form a log. Freeze for at least 1 hour.

  • Prepare the Cookies: Twist each Oreo to separate the halves, scraping away the filling. Arrange the cookie halves with the scraped side up.

  • Slice the Ice Cream: Once frozen solid, slice the ice cream log into 16 even discs.

  • Assemble the Sandwiches: Quickly place an ice cream disc on each Oreo half, then top with the other cookie half.

  • Freeze: Return the assembled sandwiches to the freezer and chill for at least 12 hours for a softer bite, or enjoy earlier for a crispier texture.

Notes

Different Flavors: Experiment with mint, coffee, or salted caramel ice cream for a twist.

Toppings: Roll the edges in mini chocolate chips, nuts, or sprinkles for added texture.

Chocolate Dip: Dip the finished sandwiches in melted chocolate for a decadent treat.
