  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 810 slices White American cheese
  • 20 oz bag McCain Quick Cook Waffle Cut Fries (or your favorite fries)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2️⃣ Cook the Steak:

  1. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp olive oil.
  2. Add the thinly sliced steak, season with garlic salt and black pepper, and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

3️⃣ Sauté the Vegetables:

  1. Reserve 1 tbsp of the cooking liquid from the skillet and discard the rest.
  2. Return the skillet to the stove and add the sliced bell pepper and onion.
  3. Cook in the reserved liquid until tender but slightly crisp.
  4. Remove from heat and set aside.

4️⃣ Layer the Fries & Toppings:

  1. Spread a layer of waffle fries in the skillet or a baking dish.
  2. Place 4 slices of White American cheese over the fries.
  3. Add a layer of cooked steak and sautéed vegetables.
  4. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining cheese slices on top.

5️⃣ Bake:

  • Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6️⃣ Serve & Enjoy:

  • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Best Steak Cuts: Use ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak for extra tenderness.
  • Extra Flavor: Add mushrooms or jalapeños for a spicy kick!
  • Cheese Options: Swap White American cheese for provolone or mozzarella if preferred.
  • Storage & Reheating: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes.
