Ingredients
- 2 (17.3 oz) packages puff pastry (4 sheets, thawed)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ½ cup salted butter, softened
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare Muffin Pan:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Spray a muffin pan with non-stick spray or line with muffin liners.
2. Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:
- In a small bowl, whisk together sugar and cinnamon.
- Set aside 4 tablespoons for rolling after baking.
3. Assemble the Cruffins:
- Unfold the four puff pastry sheets and lay them flat.
- Set aside two sheets to be used as top layers.
- Spread ¼ cup softened butter evenly onto each of the bottom two sheets.
- Generously sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered sheets.
- Place the reserved pastry sheets on top to create two “sandwiches.”
4. Shape the Cruffins:
- Using a pizza cutter or pastry wheel, cut each sandwich into 6 equal strips (for a total of 12 strips).
- Roll each strip into a tight spiral (similar to a cinnamon roll), pinching the ends to seal.
- Place each rolled strip into a muffin cup.
5. Bake & Coat in Cinnamon-Sugar:
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- While still warm, roll the cruffins in the reserved cinnamon-sugar mixture.
6. Serve & Enjoy:
- Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor!
Notes
- Extra Buttery? Brush with melted butter before rolling in cinnamon-sugar.
