Description

These Puff Pastry Cruffins are a flaky, buttery delight—a fusion of croissants and muffins filled with a sweet cinnamon-sugar mixture and baked to golden perfection. Quick and easy to make, they’re the perfect breakfast, brunch, or dessert treat!

Ingredients

  • 2 (17.3 oz) packages puff pastry (4 sheets, thawed)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup salted butter, softened

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prepare Muffin Pan:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Spray a muffin pan with non-stick spray or line with muffin liners.

2. Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Set aside 4 tablespoons for rolling after baking.

3. Assemble the Cruffins:

  1. Unfold the four puff pastry sheets and lay them flat.
  2. Set aside two sheets to be used as top layers.
  3. Spread ¼ cup softened butter evenly onto each of the bottom two sheets.
  4. Generously sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered sheets.
  5. Place the reserved pastry sheets on top to create two “sandwiches.”

4. Shape the Cruffins:

  1. Using a pizza cutter or pastry wheel, cut each sandwich into 6 equal strips (for a total of 12 strips).
  2. Roll each strip into a tight spiral (similar to a cinnamon roll), pinching the ends to seal.
  3. Place each rolled strip into a muffin cup.

5. Bake & Coat in Cinnamon-Sugar:

  1. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  2. While still warm, roll the cruffins in the reserved cinnamon-sugar mixture.

6. Serve & Enjoy:

  • Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor!

Notes

  • Extra Buttery? Brush with melted butter before rolling in cinnamon-sugar.
  • Add a Filling! Spread Nutella, fruit preserves, or cream cheese before rolling for a twist.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for later.
