Classic English Muffin Tuna Melts featuring toasted English muffins topped with creamy tuna salad and melted provolone cheese, delivering a comforting and satisfying meal perfect for lunch, dinner, or snacks.
Ingredients
4 English muffins, sliced in half
12 oz canned tuna (solid white albacore, packed in water, drained)
1 rib celery, finely diced
2 green onions, thinly sliced (reserve some dark green parts)
1 tbsp sweet relish
½ cup mayonnaise
Salt and pepper to taste
8 slices provolone cheese (or other melty cheese)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine tuna, celery, green onions, sweet relish, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Place English muffin halves on a baking sheet.
- Spoon the tuna mixture evenly onto each muffin half.
- Top each with a slice of provolone cheese.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with reserved green onion parts and serve warm.
Notes
Substitute provolone with cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss cheese.
Toast the muffins before adding the tuna mixture for extra crunch.
Add sliced tomato or pickles on top before baking for added flavor.
Mix in Dijon mustard or hot sauce into the tuna salad for a spicy kick.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
