White Chocolate Lemon Truffles are creamy, tangy treats combining smooth white chocolate with zesty lemon for a refreshing and indulgent dessert perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 cup white chocolate chips
¼ cup unsalted butter
Zest of 1 lemon
3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
½ teaspoon lemon extract
2–3 drops yellow food coloring (optional)
¼ cup powdered sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Place white chocolate chips in a heat-safe bowl. Add lemon extract and food coloring (if using). Set aside.
- In a saucepan, heat butter and lemon zest over low heat until butter melts. Increase heat to medium, add heavy cream, and cook until just simmering. Remove from heat immediately.
- Pour hot cream and butter mixture over white chocolate chips. Let sit for a few seconds, then stir until smooth and fully melted.
- Cover and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
- Scoop small portions and roll into balls, using powdered sugar on hands or mixture if sticky.
- Roll truffles evenly in powdered sugar to coat.
- Refrigerate coated truffles for at least 30 minutes to set.
Notes
Substitute lemon extract with lime for a citrus twist.
Use colored sugar or sprinkles instead of powdered sugar for coating.
Dip truffles in melted white or dark chocolate for a richer finish.
Store truffles in airtight container in fridge for up to 5 days.
Freeze on baking sheet, transfer to container; keep frozen up to 3 months. Thaw before serving.
