Description

Crispy, sweet Fried Honey Fritters filled with a soft dough and drizzled with warm honey, offering a delicious balance of textures and flavors. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Honey (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk and olive oil with salt over medium-high heat until milk is hot, but not boiling.
  2. Add flour to the saucepan all at once, stirring vigorously until the dough forms into a ball. Stir until it pulls away from the pan sides.
  3. Transfer dough to a loaf pan lined with cling film and chill for several hours until firm.
  4. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or saucepan.
  5. Remove dough from the fridge, cut into small pieces, and fry in batches for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. Warm honey and drizzle it generously over the fritters, turning them to coat each side.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough for a spiced flavor.
  • For a fruity variation, add diced apples or berries into the dough before frying.
  • Experiment with flavored honey, like lavender or orange blossom, for a unique twist.
  • If you prefer, top the fritters with powdered sugar or melted chocolate instead of honey.
