Ideal for busy nights, meal prepping, or feeding a crowd, this dish requires minimal effort while delivering maximum flavor. Whether served on buns, over rice, or in salads, this pulled BBQ chicken is a surefire crowd-pleaser that will satisfy all your cravings!

Ingredients

3 boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 18-oz bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce

1/3 cup light brown sugar

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

1/4 tsp chipotle chili powder

1/4 tsp ground white pepper

Slow cooker liner (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and set the heat to low. Ensure the chicken is fully thawed before adding to the cooker.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chipotle chili powder, and white pepper. Stir until well mixed.

  3. Pour the BBQ mixture over the chicken breasts, making sure they are evenly coated.

  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.

  5. After cooking, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks, mixing it with the sauce until fully coated.

  6. Serve the pulled BBQ chicken on toasted, buttered buns for a delicious sandwich or use it in wraps, salads, or tacos.

Notes

For added heat, include cayenne pepper or chili flakes.

Add finely chopped onions or bell peppers for extra flavor and texture.

Liquid smoke can be added for a smoky, grilled flavor.

Serve with classic sides like coleslaw, corn on the cob, or sweet potato fries for the full BBQ experience.
