Description

The Most Addicting Oreo Dirt Pie is a no-bake dessert layered with rich chocolate cake, creamy pudding, fluffy whipped topping, and a generous sprinkle of crushed Oreos. This crowd-pleasing, kid-friendly treat is easy to prepare and perfect for potlucks, parties, or any time you crave a decadent chocolate dessert. Customize it with fun toppings like gummy worms or a peanut butter twist!

Ingredients

1 box chocolate fudge cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box: eggs, oil, and water)

2 packages instant chocolate pudding mix

4 cups cold milk

1 container whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)

1 package Oreo cookies, crushed

Instructions

  • Bake the Cake Base:
Prepare and bake the chocolate fudge cake as directed on the box. Let it cool completely.

  • Make the Pudding:
In a large bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened. Let it set for a few minutes.

  • Crush the Oreos:
Place Oreos in a zip-top bag and crush using a rolling pin, or pulse in a food processor.

  • Assemble the Dirt Pie:

    • Crumble the cooled cake and spread it evenly in the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan.

    • Layer the chocolate pudding over the cake.

    • Spread whipped topping on top of the pudding.

    • Sprinkle the crushed Oreos over the whipped topping to form the “dirt” layer.

  • Chill:
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Add Gummy Worms: For a classic dirt-and-worms look.

Peanut Butter Twist: Add a swirl of peanut butter or peanut butter chips between layers.

Mint Variation: Use mint Oreos or a dash of peppermint extract in the pudding.
